On June 4–5, representatives of the CARMA project participated in the Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS) held in Brussels, a key event organised by CERIS (Community for European Research and Innovation for Security).
The seminar brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across the EU, including security-focused research projects, policymakers, and representatives from EU agencies. It was co-hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Home Affairs (DG HOME) and the European Research Executive Agency (REA), with the objective of bridging the gap between research and policy priorities.
CARMA was represented by Nicholas Vretos from the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and Alexandre Ahmad from CS GROUP. Their presence offered a valuable opportunity to present CARMA’s work, exchange with fellow EU-funded projects, and explore how the project’s technological developments can align with broader European security and resilience strategies.

The PPS serves as a platform not only for knowledge-sharing but also for encouraging alignment between innovation and operational needs, particularly in the field of disaster preparedness and first responder support.
As CARMA advances, ensuring that research outcomes contribute meaningfully to European security frameworks remains central to the project’s vision. Participation in events like PPS reinforces this commitment.
