CARMA Contributes to EU–Japan Dialogue on Disaster Risk Reduction

The CARMA project was recently represented at the EU–Japan Workshop on Research and Innovation in Support of Disaster Risk Reduction, an event that brought together experts and stakeholders from both regions to strengthen international cooperation in the field of crisis response and territorial resilience.

This workshop provided a valuable opportunity to highlight CARMA’s contributions to the future of Disaster Risk Management and the role of robotics in supporting first responders. Discussions focused on enhancing disaster governance, improving cross-border coordination, and promoting resilience through technological innovation.

The participation of CARMA in this event reflects the project’s alignment with broader European and international strategies for emergency preparedness. These exchanges underline the importance of shared knowledge and collective action when addressing increasingly complex crisis scenarios.

Special thanks to our partners from CERTH (Centre for Research & Technology Hellas) for presenting the CARMA project and contributing to the dialogue on behalf of the consortium.

As natural and man-made risks continue to evolve, international collaboration remains an essential component of building robust and responsive crisis management systems—a challenge that CARMA is committed to meeting through innovation and partnership.
