Open Community

The CARMA Open Community brings together people and organisations interested in the use of robotics and related technologies for safer and more effective disaster response.

The community is open to first responders, civil protection organisations, critical infrastructure operators, public authorities, technology providers, researchers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders interested in advancing knowledge and practice in the field of civil protection robotics.

The purpose of the Open Community is to help CARMA connect with relevant expertise beyond the project consortium, share project developments, gather feedback, and support the wider uptake of project results.

How the Open Community works

The CARMA Open Community is implemented through a hybrid approach:

This approach allows CARMA to combine public outreach, professional networking, and more focused exchange with communities working on disaster resilience, robotics, and emergency response technologies.

What members can expect

Members of the CARMA Open Community can:

  • receive updates on CARMA’s progress, events, and public results;
  • learn about developments in robotics for disaster response;
  • exchange knowledge with professionals, researchers, technology providers, and first responders;
  • contribute perspectives, use cases, and feedback;
  • be informed about opportunities to participate in workshops, discussions, surveys, or other public engagement activities.

Participation is voluntary and can take different forms, from simply following project updates to actively contributing to discussions and feedback activities.

How to join

You can join the CARMA Open Community by:

  1. following the CARMA project on LinkedIn ;
  2. joining the CARMA Open Community LinkedIn group;
  3. connecting with CARMA through the CMINE Responder Technology Cluster;
  4. following CARMA updates and blog posts on the CARMA website.

All participation is handled with due care for confidentiality, security, and the appropriate sharing of project information.
