CARMA Participates in CERIS Workshop on Solutions for First Responders

On March 27, the CARMA project took part in the CERIS Workshop on Solutions for First Responders, an event organized by the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS). The workshop gathered a wide range of experts, innovators, and first responder practitioners to discuss the latest advancements in response technologies and operational support tools.

Throughout the day, participants explored the challenges and opportunities faced by first responders, with a focus on research-driven solutions and how they can successfully transition into real-world applications. CARMA was present to share insights into its ongoing activities, emerging technologies, and next project milestones.

The workshop also served as a valuable opportunity to connect with sister projects, exchange perspectives, and strengthen existing synergies across the European research landscape.

Notably, the DIREKTION project (Horizon Europe) presented a policy brief during the event, highlighting key outcomes from the Responder Technology Cluster of the Community of Practice for Crisis Management Innovation Network Europe (CMINE)—of which CARMA is an active member. The presentation was part of Panel 1: “Innovation uptake: Supporting the pathway from research to market entry of R&I projects”, emphasizing the importance of bridging the gap between innovation and practical deployment.

As the CARMA project continues to progress, such moments of exchange with the broader European ecosystem help ensure that innovations are not only relevant but truly adapted to the needs of the field.
